Diamond Jubilee Countdown: 31 – How to furnish a new home

You walk into your new home and you see a blank canvas – “fantastic!” you think!

What should be the most exciting and inspiring time of your life can quickly become incredibly stressful – you’ve got it, THE FURNISHING!

We tend to have a clear idea of how we want our new home to look in our heads but in reality, getting the image from our heads into a new space is much harder then we expect.

We have some top tips for you about furnishing your home and how to help you achieve fabulous interior design.

TIP 1: Keep it simple

White walls. One should always start with white walls. By painting the walls white, you show a rooms full potential.

With a blank canvas, your options for decoration and SUCCESSFUL STYLING are more malleable.

For example, a room can look WOW painted white with either:

A feature wall (wallpaper, paint or wall stickers), by hanging a beautiful piece of art, leaning a tall floor mirror or simply using the wall space to exaggerate a stunning floor light.

TIP 2 : Mix the best of both worlds

Furniture, as we will all agree is personal. Some of us like Contemporary and some of us like Shabby Chic – our advise? Mix the two!

You will be surprised how much the two styles compliment each other!
